Yesterday, I received an envelope from a client. This is a relatively new client, an older gentleman– quiet, a good sense of humor, always cheerful in my encounters with him and very down to earth. I didn’t really know his story, it was not relevant to our relationship as attorney-client at this juncture.
As I went to open the envelope I noticed that the client had handwritten something on the back corner of the envelope. The envelope bore a Purple Heart medal stamp. For those unfamiliar, the Purple Heart is a medal earned by any member of the Armed Services that has been wounded or killed while in service. His words touched me. So very humble and heartwarming.
So very humble and heartwarming. So appropriate with Veteran’s Day just around the corner. Such kind words in what is lately a very unkind world.
